SPRINGFIELD — A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec 4, at Central Lutheran Church in Eugene for Lesli DeLyn Burk of Springfield. She died Nov. 30 of an aneurysm at age 47.

She was born Nov. 25, 1961, in Springfield to Les and LaDonna Peck Burk. She attended Cottage Grove High School. She worked as a caretaker for disabled people, in telemarketing on surveys and as a housekeeper.

Survivors include her mother, LaDonna Belton of Springfield; a grandmother, Faye Peck of Springfield; a daughter, Crystal Burk of Springfield; two sisters, Leisa McAdams of Springfield and Micki Wiskow of Eugene; and a stepbrother, Robert Brown of Springfield.

Lowell Welburn Jr.

SPRINGFIELD — Lowell Paul “Bud” Welburn Jr. of Springfield died Nov. 29 of a heart attack at age 55. A celebration of life will be held in January.

He was born Dec. 1, 1952, in Ashland to Lowell Welburn Sr. and Teddy Wallace Welburn. He married Carla Watson on Feb. 15, 1973, in Eugene.

Welburn attended Lane Community College. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a computer repairman and the owner of McKenzie Computer Graphics until he retired.

Survivors include his wife; his father, of Phoenix; his mother, Teddy Loeffler of Junction City; a son, Paul “Tony” of Springfield; two daughters, Trina Welburn of Springfield and Trisha Welburn of Eugene; 11 siblings and four grandchildren.

Patricia Armstrong

A memorial service will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the Newman Center in Eugene for Patricia Mees Armstrong of Eugene, who died Nov. 29 of breast cancer. She was 75.

She was born Aug. 17, 1933, in Morristown, N.J., to Samuel and Dorothy Carter Mees. She married Richard Armstrong on April 23, 1955, in Menlo Park, Calif.

She attended Douglass College and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and history at the University of California at Berkeley in 1956. She received a master’s degree in education at the University of Oregon in 1969. She taught sixth grade for a year and later taught gifted students and language arts at middle schools in Eugene, Vermont and Guam. She wrote newspaper columns, poems, short stories and books.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Mark of Bismarck, N.D., Scott of Hillsboro and Tod “Nikki” of Rohnert Park, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren. A granddaughter, Cara Armstrong, died Oct. 6, 1995.

Inurnment will be in Golden Gate Cemetery in San Bruno, Calif. Arrangements by Andreason’s Cremation and Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances to Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation in Eugene.
