Harold Pryer

Harold John Pryer of Eugene died Jan. 18 of age-related causes. He was 84. Private family services were held.

He was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Spokane, Mo., to Roy and Myrtle Harden Pryer. He married Irene Young on Sept. 5, 1948, in California.

Pryer was in the Marines in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He studied electrical engineering at the University of Missouri. He worked as an electrical engineer for Weyerhaeuser in Springfield in the 1960s and at Roseburg Lumber in Dillard from 1968 to 1974. He then worked at Roseburg Lumber in Coos Bay until his retirement in 1986.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen Fleming, Barbara Williamson and Donna Schaeffer, all of Eugene; a son, Dean of Rockaway Beach; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
