Kathryn Noyer

COTTAGE GROVE — A private service will be held later for Kathryn Lavinia “Kay” Noyer, who died of cancer Jan. 20. She was 84.

Noyer was born Dec. 7, 1924, in Rhinelander, Wis., to Edward and Lota Cowin Young. She married Harold E. Noyer on Nov. 2, 1944. He died in 1998.

She was a medical social worker at Siskiyou County Hospital and Courthouse in Yreka, Calif., for 25 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Doris Porter of Kenai, Alaska, and Nancy Freeman-Hopper of Milwaukie; a brother, Rex Hopper of Vancouver, Wash.; two sons, Bill and Larry, both of Sacramento; two daughters, Kathy Lofftus of Trinidad, Calif., and Sherrie Cooper of Cottage Grove; eight grandchildren and eight great-grand children.
