Arlene Flowers

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield for Arlene Helga Flowers of Eugene. She died Feb. 8 of renal failure at age 79. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Oak Hill Cemetery.

She was born May 20, 1929, in Rice Lake, Wis., to Herman and Helga Johnson Nieman. She married Nelson Flowers on Nov. 1, 1947, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Babcock of Eugene and Vicky Jefferson of Springfield; four sons, Larry of Junction City, Gary of Henderson, Ky., Robert of Newberg and Joseph of Eugene; three sisters, Pearl Nieman of Rice Lake, Wis., Ruby De Fay of Rockford, Ill., and Jean Van Meter of Gainesville, Mo.; two brothers, Marshall Nieman of White Bear Lake, Minn., and LaVerne Nieman of Rice Lake, Wis.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her husband died Sept. 2, 1985.
