Dennis Bishop

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Eugene for Dennis Neale Bishop of Eugene. He died Jan. 5 of heart failure at age 72.

He was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Long Beach, Calif., to Judd and Margaret Cole Bishop. He married JoAnn Nelson on Sept. 12, 1982, in Las Vegas.

Bishop held a degree in accounting from Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, Calif. He served in the Army and the Navy as a Seabee, including service in Korea, and retired from the military. He worked in civil service as a purchase distribution manager at Point Magoo, retiring in 1997.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael of Lompoc, Calif.; three daughters, Shelly Alsop of Santa Maria, Calif., Sandy Chisholm of Lompoc and Eva Bilinski of Tonapah, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Donna Cicero of Eugene and Lorena Cicero of Silverton; a stepson, Frank Cicero of Silverton; a brother, David of Mustang, Okla.; two stepbrothers, Bruse Grubaugh and Kenny Grubaugh, both of Los Angeles; a stepsister, Ann Marie Pentecost of Harrisburg; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a stepgrandchild.
