Earl Knudsen

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. April 25 at Central Grange Hall for Earl Morgan Knudsen of Eugene, who died March 17 of age-related causes. He was 97.

He was born Sept. 5, 1911, in Shotley Township, Minn., to John and Christine Clausen Knudsen. He married Sarah Hayford in Minnesota in 1935. She died in 1993.

He worked as a truck driver for Oakridge and as a carpenter.

Survivors include a life partner of four years, Pat Kukar; four daughters, Irene Ackley of Gilchrist, Carol Dorfler of La Pine, Janet Knudsen of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Sandra Henderson of Oakridge; a son, Dennis of Beaver Creek; a sister, Bernice Saporito of St. Louis Park, Minn.; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A son, Herbert, died in 2007 and Joy Costello, a life partner of 10 years, died previously.
