Frances George

Frances “Tess” Winsor George of Eugene died Feb. 15 of age-related causes. She was 91. No service is planned.

She was born April 21, 1917, in Calgary, Alberta, to Arthur and Emma Chapman Winsor. She married W.C. George in 1942.

She graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in Shelton, Wash., in 1935.

She worked as a clerk for the Oregon Department of Transportation in Eugene from 1961 to 1981 and previously worked in the county assessor’s office in Seattle and at Meier & Frank in Portland.

Survivors include a daughter, Gertrude “Trudy” George of Van Nuys, Calif.; and one grandchild. A son, Clyde, died in 2006.

Arrangements by Andreason’s Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances to the American Cancer Society or the ALS Association.
