Jeffrey Davis
SPRINGFIELD — A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Thurston Grange 853 in Springfield for Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Davis of Springfield. He died March 8 of pancreatic cancer at age 62.
He was born July 17, 1946, in Harrisburg, Ill., to James and Betty Jean Sexton Davis. He married Sandra Skelley in 1966 and they divorced in 1970. He married Barbara Hunter Ure in May, 2002, in Sacramento.
Davis attended schools in Harrisburg, Ill., Blythe, Moorpark and Oxnard in California, and Ventura College in Ventura, Calif. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves. He worked as a comptroller and finance manager for Child Development Resources-Head Start in Ventura, and in Eugene for Central Latino Americana and for the White Bird program.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Betty Davis Kumler of Camarillo, Calif.; a daughter, Kimberly Davis of Monroe, Wash.; two stepsons, David Ure of Springfield and Doug Ure of Eugene; two sisters, Tracy Davis of Fort Garland, Colo., and Pat Davis of Brea, Calif.; a brother, James Jr.; two stepbrothers, Robert Kumler of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Roger Kumler of Honeoye Falls, N.Y.; a stepsister, Margie Kumler of Hollywood, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
