Joan Miles

Joan Cheryll Miles of Las Vegas, formerly of Eugene, died March 16 of pancreatic cancer. She was 68.  A private celebration of life will be held later.

Joan was born June 4, 1940, in Devil’s Lake, N.D., to William and Myrtle Stewart Sagen.

She loved music and singing and worked as an elementary school music teacher in Oregon, Washington and Nevada.

Survivors include her mother, of Eugene; a daughter, Shawn Muller of Terrebonne; a son, Daren of Henderson, Nev.; four sisters, Jayne Fortt of Tacoma, and Jean Bennett, Janet Sagen and Judith Sagen, all of Eugene; two brothers, Jerry Sagen of Eugene and Jack Sagen of Moraga, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Remembrances to Central Lutheran Church choir or the American Diabetes Association.
