Margaret Walker Pengelly

On April 24th at the age of 94, Peg Pengelly left us to join her ancestors.  Peg was born in St. Charles Missouri but lived her active life in Spokane Washington, graduating from Hillyard high School and attending Washington State College.

She married Jack Pengelly, (who preceded her in death) and together they raised 3 children in the Spokane Valley.  Peg and Jack, with close family friends, completed a cedar log cabin on the west shore of Priest Lake providing idyllic summer outings for the two extended families for generations.  To help her young family, Peg worked many years in a medical office as receptionist/scheduler/bookkeeper.  After retirement, in order to be closer to children and grandchildren, Peg & Jack moved to Eugene Oregon as Jack’s health was deteriorating.  During her Eugene years Peg enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bridge and many new friends. 

She is survived by a daughter, Nonie Mansfield of Eugene and a son, Sam Pengelly of Klamath Falls, (son David is deceased), 8 grandchildrren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Andreasons of Springfield Oregon is handling the cremation.  No service is planned.  This summer Peg’s family will spread her ashes under a big, healthy tree at her beloved Priest Lake.  Remember Peg by planting something yourself.
