MONROE — Dorothy J. Peterson of Monroe died May 26 of a stroke. She was 90. No service is planned.

She was born Jan. 2, 1919, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Harold and Mattie York Meyers. She married Francis Peterson in 1941 in Reno, Nev.

She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Arizona State University in 1940. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; five sons, Gary of Poulsbo, Wash., Mark of Harrisburg, Don of Monroe, Harold of Joseph and Tom of Junction City; two daughters, Linda Blair of La Pine, and Sharon Mandel of Talent; numerous grand­children and great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

    I’m sorry to hear of your dear mother’s passing. I remember her being called “Mama Duck” and how very tiny of a woman she was! I lost my father last year so I can sympathize with your loss….
