Oscar Oberman

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 28, at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield for Oscar Frank “Obie” Oberman of Eugene, who died May 24 of a stroke. He was 87. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland.

He was born Oct. 22, 1921, in Falls City to Rex and Mary Mott Oberman. He married Evelyn Mae Compton on Jan. 8, 1949, in Washington, D.C. She died Sept. 27, 1994.

Mr. Oberman graduated from Forest Grove High School. He served in the Navy as an electrician mate second class. He worked as an electrician for the state highway department for 33 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Miriam Mendel of Portland.
