Doris Knoer

The Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, at St. Mary Catholic Church of Eugene for Doris E. Knoer of Eugene, who died July 7 of age-related causes. She was 85.

She was born Feb. 18, 1924, in Louisville, Ky., to Robert and Mary Lochner Stober. She and Howard Knoer were married in May 1948 in St. Louis, Mo. He died in 1988.

Knoer earned a master’s degree in social work from St. Louis University in Missouri.

She was a social worker for Hamilton County in Cincinnati.

Survivors include daughters Marna Knoer of Eugene and Beth Jastram of South Dakota; a son, Peter Knoer of Houston; sisters Roberta Ballard of Akron, Ohio, Mary Rose Tabellion of Massillon, Ohio, and Ruth Spagnola of New York; brothers John Stober of Massillon, Ohio, and Marvin Stober of Louisville, Ky.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Elsie Knoer, died in 1984.
