Barbara Newell

Barbara Newell of Creswell died Aug. 17 of age-related causes at age 89. A memorial service will be held later.

She was born Aug. 14, 1920, in San Francisco to Tom and Mary Williams Eldridge. She married Herbert Newell on March 11, 1946.

She attended San Francisco State College. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Herbert Newell of Creswell and Thomas Newell of Discovery Bay, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Smith of Fair Oaks, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband and a daughter, Virgina Newell, died previously.

Arrangements by Andreason’s Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances to the Creswell Church of Christ or Greenhill Humane Society.
