Joseph Borda

Joseph E. Borda Jr. was born June 20, 1947 in New York City to Joe and Dorothy (Nossett) Borda.  He married Tammy Chambers on July 17, 1982 in Tustin, California.

Joe served in the Navy from 1965-68 in Viet Nam.  He was a jack-of-all-trades, working in construction, management and a nursery, among other things.  In later years he became a computer programmer and networker for some of the Fortune 500 companies.  He was also a foster parent, adopting two kids.  Joe was a good man.

Joe passed away at his home in Cottage Grove on August 19, 2009.  He was just 62 and another victim of cancer.  He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy; son Robert Richard Borda of Cottage Grove; daughter Markie Jean Borda, also of Cottage Grove;  son Joseph Borda Camaleri of Lodi, California; numerous nieces and nephews and one much-anticipated granddaughter, Bella Jo Borda–on the way!

Joe’s family is planning a celebration of Joe’s life at the Cottage Grove VFW Hall in the near future, followed by inurnment with military honors at Roseburg National Cemetery.
