Peter was a true talent. his work and his imagination were truly brilliant. he always said that he saw the whole image clearly before he even started. what a wonderful gift he had.
a great artist.
What can I say? Peter was an amazing person. His talent was brilliant and his stories were captivating. I loved spending hours just sitting with him and listening to every word he had to say. He was such a smart man, with a very colorful past. He was always loved, even at work. I certainly miss him and wish I could sit for hours again and listen to his amazing stories. If anybody knows how to get in touch with his wife or other family, please, let me know. RIP Peter. Love you.
Peter is greatly missed. I recently watched us on home movies on a family trip to Wales in ~1956. He was always happy and joking around. His early paintings of Cornwall when he was around 15 show his early talent. I wish I had some of his later airbrush works too. Fond memories of his family and mine in England and Temple.
God Bless his family in their loss.
I greatly admired Peter Lloyd’s art, so soon after moving to California in the late ’70s, I wrote him a fan letter. To my surprise he gave me a call and we spoke a bit. He invited me to come over to see his set-up and meet his family! Wow, this guy was a god to me in the world of commercial illustration! I went to his home, I think it was in Van Nuys, and saw many of the original illustrations and album art that inspired me. He invited me to share a mexican take-out dinner with him and family. Some time later he asked me if I wanted to help him out in his studio, a temporary gig, but I just started a full time job and was starting to survive. I will always regret turning down the offer, that could have been a major turning point for me. I remember his England/Texas accent back then, very unique.
Someone should create a website dedicated to Peter Lloyd and his art. I am grateful to have met him, however briefly.
