Joyce Cobiskey

Joyce E. Cobiskey of Eugene died Dec. 21 of heart failure. She was 80.
She was born March 17, 1929, in Eugene to Albert and Florence Good Rose. She married Clarence A. Cobiskey on June 17, 1946, in Eugene. He died in Aug. 12, 1993.
She was a homemaker and baked pies for Finn’s Restaurant.
Survivors include three daughters, Jo Ann Steinhauer of Springfield and Sandra Cobiskey and Dalene Berry, both of Eugene; two sons, Michael of Lowell and Chuck of Eugene; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. A daughter, Linda Cobiskey, died in 1986 and a great-grandson, Austin Lydon, died previously.

Jack Walker

Jack Leonard Walker died on Friday, December 18, 2009 after a long battle with prostrate cancer. He was 72 years old.
Jack born March 1, 1937, in Detroit, Mich., to Lawrence and Marian Alster Walker. He married Sharon McHugh on Aug. 20, 1960, in Farmington, Mich.
He had a Bachelors Degree from the University of Detroit and a Masters Degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Jack was a Certified Public Accountant specializing in taxes. He worked for Arthur Young & Co. in Chicago, New York City and Detroit. In Eugene he worked for Minihan, Kernutt & Stokes and Coopers & Lybrand. He also did taxes for AARP for many years after he retired. He was a musician, singing tenor and playing lthe piano and organ at St. Paul Catholic Church and many of the other local churches.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children, Helen Caprioglio of Pueblo, Colorado, Christopher Walker of Tigard, Oregon, Martha Bracken of Suquamish, Washington, Peter Walker of Phoenix, Arizona and Thomas Walker of Corvallis, Oregon; his much-loved grandchildren, Teresa, Anthony and Ariel Caprioglio; and by his brothers, Father Donald Walker of Detroit and Brian Walker of Ft. Myers, Florida.
The funeral Mass will be held later at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Eugene. Remembrances may be made to Willamette Valley Cancer Institute or Cascade Hospice.
David Murphy

David Lyle Murphy of Springfield died Dec. 13 of a heart attack at age 64. No service is planned.
He was born June 19, 1945, in Rotan, Texas, to George and Sara Murphy.
He served in the U.S. Army. He was a long-haul truck driver for more than 10 years, and worked for Hatfield Ceilings for 18 years.
Survivors include a son, Ian of Springfield, and a sister, Sharon Murphy.

Kathleen Faulds

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, at Wayside Chapel in Springfield for Kathleen “Kathy” Faulds of Eugene, who died Dec. 17 at age 45.
She was born July 3, 1964, in Springfield.
She worked for 20 years at Pearl Buck in Eugene.
Survivors include her mother, Gloria Stewart of Washington; two brothers, Steve Faulds of Eugene and Mike Stewart of California; and two sisters, Susan Johannesson of Colorado and Delores Gerg of Washington.

Conrad Nelson

Conrad Robert Nelson of Florence died Dec. 16 of cancer. He was 75. No service is planned. Private inurnment will be in Minnesota.
He was born Nov. 6, 1934, in St. Paul, Minn., to Gilbert and Margaret Brunzell Nelson. He married Maxine Cherry on Nov. 12, 1955, in St. Paul. She died Sept. 2, 2001.
He graduated from Johnson High School in St. Paul.
He worked as a precision machinist in Minnesota, then as an electrician in the RV industry.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Feld of Lino Lakes, Minn.; two sons, Robert of Burnsville, Minn., and Patrick of Eugene; four brothers, Gerald of Lawton, Okla., Roger of Edina, Minn., Eugene of Texas and Michael of White Bear Lake, Minn.; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Two sons, Raymond Nelson and Mark Nelson, died previously.

Helmer Lundebo

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield for Helmer Oliver Lundebo of Eugene, who died Dec. 17 of age-related causes. He was 92. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Buell Funeral Chapel.
He was born June 16, 1917, in Vaksdal, Norway, to Lars and Jenny Fasdol Lundebo. He married Maxine Ripley on July 11, 1940, in Pipestone, Minn.
He worked primarily as a farmer.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Bean of Dallas, Ore.; a son, Steve Lundebo of Eugene; and seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Two sons, Leonard Lundebo in March 2009 and Oralen “Lee” Lundebo in November 1978, died previously.

Russell Joyce Hudson of Eugene died Dec. 16 of age-related causes. He was 92. No service is planned.
He was born June 26, 1917, in Brazil, Iowa, to Robert and Margaret Drew Hudson. He married Alberta Foster, and she died in July 1983.
He was a heavy equipment operator in construction.
Survivors include a daughter, Karla Jean Eschler of Joseph, Ore.; two sons, Michael and Glen, both of Eugene; a sister, Lois Stanfield; two brothers, Reece and Richard; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Douglas Hudson, died previously.

Carol Davidson

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield for Carol Elizabeth Davidson of Springfield, who died Dec. 17 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 87.
She was born April 16, 1922, in Coquille to Orvil and Elizabeth Church Haga. She married Robert C. Davidson on June 27, 1941, in Myrtle Point. He died in 1985.
She graduated high school in Bandon and attended Monmouth Teachers’ College for one year.
She worked with her husband in the family business, Emerald Appliance Repair and Refinishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Robin Elizabeth Collman of Eugene and Margaret Renee Boeshans of Springfield; a sister, Nancy Ann Hickman of Springfield; and four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Merlin Sikes

Merlin E. Wingo Sikes of Saginaw, Minn., formerly of Coburg and Camp Creek, died Dec. 12 of age-related causes. She was 86.
She was born Nov. 15, 1923, in Pueblo, Colo., to John and Ethel Bouslog Wingo. She married Delbert Sikes on Oct. 12, 1959, in Eugene. He died July 16, 1975.
She graduated with a bachelor of arts in education from Central Washington State College. She taught school at Wilson Creek public schools in Washington.
Survivors include a son, Thomas of Midland, Mich.; three step-daughters, Bonnie Sikes and Janice Sikes, both of Oregon, and Linnea Anderson of Texas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Richard Parker

Richard Gideon Parker of Eugene died Dec. 14 of cancer. He was 74. No service is planned.
He was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Hill City, S.D., to Gideon and Alice Hart Parker.
He worked at The Bookmark in Eugene for 20 years, was an artist and worked as a teacher.
Survivors include his domestic partner of 34 years, Steven Pickens; and two sisters, Cheri Parker of Seattle and Naoma Castleberry of Albuquerque.
