Frances Hicks

Frances “Jo” Hicks of Eugene died Jan. 18 of kidney failure. She was 88. No service is planned.

She was born June 16, 1921, in Lynch, Neb., to Jesse and Kate Pierson Bernard. She married Virgil T. Hicks on June 14, 1942, in Washington. He died July 8, 1998.

She graduated from high school and business college.

She was a legal secretary and a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Dee Maupin of Drain and Jean Huffman of Springfield; two sons, William and Tracey, both of Eugene; and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Michelle Mock, died previously.

Arrangements by Andreason’s Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances to the Roseburg Veterans’ Administration Hospital, or any veterans’ group.
