Roy Mills

Roy Ronald Mills of Springfield died Jan. 18 of age-related causes. He was 77. No service is planned.

He was born May 6, 1932, in Moorhead, Minn., to Elbert and Lillian Baird Mills.

He had a seventh-grade education.

He owned a wrecking yard in the 1960s and 1970s. In the 1980s he worked for The Register-­Guard.

Survivors include four sons, Troy and Patrick of Eugene, Frank of Springfield and Micheal of Talent; a sister, Marlys Mills of Montrose, Colo.; and nine grandchildren and four great-grand­children. A son, Rory Mills, died previously.
