A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Wayside Open Bible Chapel in Springfield for Thomas “Jack” Tennent of Springfield, who died Jan. 19 of age-related causes. He was 86.

He was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Bug Tussle, Okla., to Thomas and Kate Tennent. He married his wife, Yevonne, on Dec. 5, 1947, in Springfield.

He attended Springfield High School. He served with the U.S. Army in Europe and with the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea.

He worked in home construction.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Bob of Modesto, Calif., Ed of Red Oak, Texas, and Jerry and Mike, both of Springfield; three sisters, Wynema Hayes, Virginia Cooper and Mary Scholl, all of Springfield; a brother, John Tennent of Bend; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
