Mary Blais

Mary Blais of Eugene died Jan. 26 of age-related causes. She was 93. A service will be held later.

She was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Gorham, N.D., to John and Katherine Evanuk Elkow. She married Everett Blais May 3, 1941, in Eugene.

She graduated from Springfield High School and attended Eugene Business College.

She worked about 10 years as a secretary in a welfare office before becoming a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Terese Mansker of Eugene; a son, Mark of Creswell; two sisters, Sue Chase of Eugene and Pauline McLaughlin of Springfield; and five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
