MONROE — The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Monroe Methodist Church for Loren Douglas Bowman of Monroe.  Loren died July 17 at age 57.

He was born Nov. 15, 1952, in Lewistown, Mont., to Sam and Alice Larsen Bowman. He married Victoria Spurgeon on April 6, 1991, in Monroe.

He served in the Navy in Vietnam from 1971 to 1974 and later worked as an auto mechanic.  Loren was an important part of Monroe–he had a lot of friends and was a big part of the community food bank. 

Survivors include his loving wife; three daughters, Corina Edwards of Cres­well, Sammi Giro of Medford and Sunny Murray of Eugene; a son, David Roberts II of Monroe; five brothers, Bob of Eugene, Dom, Curtis and Sam, all of Monroe, and Jeff of Winchester Bay; and a sister, Mary Lou Maudlin of Monroe.  Loren was special and will be deeply missed by many.

Burial will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City. Arrangements by Andreason’s Cremation & Burial Services in Springfield. Remembrances may be made to the Monroe Food Bank.
