Otto Henrickson

Otto E. Henrickson of Eugene died Nov. 6 from cancer. He was 89.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
He was born May 16, 1921, in Estacada to Carl and Agnus Holmquvist Henrickson. He married Florence Wade in 1946; they later divorced. He married Georgia McCain-Campbell in 1969 in Corvallis.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and then worked for United Airlines in Eugene, Farwest Steel and Club Cleaners. He was a writer and authored “The Bent Spoon” and “The Nevada Way.”
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert of Montana, Bruce of Washington and Jerry of Oregon; a stepdaughter, Claudia Rosa of Oregon; a stepson, David Campbell of Washington; a brother, Jack Henrickson of Oregon; a sister, Mae Hilly of Oregon; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Karin Maria Harvey of Eugene died Nov. 7 of age-related causes. She was 91.
Her ashes will be scattered at a later date.
She was born Dec. 21, 1918, in Stockholm, Sweden, and immigrated to the United States in 1961. She outlived three husbands.
She worked for many years as a dental assistant, language teacher and homemaker. She was an avid golfer and reader.
Survivors include a son, Leif Olaf Johanson, of Sweden; a twin sister, Ruth Helmfrid, of Hagersten, Sweden; and two grandsons. Her husbands, Olaf Johnson, Leander Forman and Wesley Harvey, died previously.

Patricia Hanson

Patricia Hanson of Eugene died Nov. 7 of cancer. She was 75.
A private service will be held later.
She was born Nov. 2, 1935, in St. Paul, Minn. She married Duane Hanson in 1954 in Austin, Minn.
She graduated from Austin Central High School and was a homemaker and artist who enjoyed crafts and camping.
Survivors include three sons, Ron of Eugene, Rick of Sutter Creek, Calif., and Rod of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Eugene Brienmeier of Mankato, Minn.; and four grandchildren. Her husband died in 2008.

A private service will be held for Ernest R. “Ernie” Smith of Eugene, who died Oct. 28 of a heart ailment. He was 66.
Smith was born Dec. 8, 1943, in Lebanon to Dow and Flora Haysany Smith. He and his wife, Charlotte, married in 1964 in Gilchrist; they divorced in 2003.
He attended Southern Oregon University, majoring in mathematics. He was a district manager in the circulation department at The Register-Guard. He owned Monroe Street Market and was service manager of Small World Auto Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Laing of Eugene; a son, Michael of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Carolyn Keutzer of Eugene; a brother, Larry of Ohio; and four grandchildren.

Corabelle Pearl Polley of Eugene died Nov. 4 of age-related causes. She was 89. No service is planned.
Polley was born March 2, 1921, in Fortuna, N.D., to Oliver and Clara Erickson Buckem. She married Louis Polley on Nov. 12, 1941, in Eugene.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce of Marcola and Brian of Eugene; a sister, Olive Price of Walla Walla, Wash.; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her husband; a daughter, Lynn Pugh; and a grandson, Larry; died previously.

Clifford “Chris” Macom of Eugene died Oct. 31 of lymphoma. He was 57. No service is planned.
Macom was born Sept. 18, 1953, in Oklahoma City to Clifford and Minnie Edney Macom.
He married Lynn Lafayette on June 20, 1981, in Oklahoma City. He was a chef in a casino at South Lake Tahoe, Nev., and later worked as a district manager in EZ-Mart convenience stores.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marianne Slason of Eugene; a son, Christopher Macom-Seal of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Nancy Mead of Oklahoma City and Ruth Bennett of St. Augustine, Fla.; a brother, Randy of Meeker, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

VENETA — A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Zumwalt Park in Veneta for Mark Thomas Casterline of Veneta, who died Oct. 28 of a gunshot wound. He was 49.
He was born Jan. 20, 1961, in Oceanside, Calif., to Charles and Laverne Elliott Casterline.
He worked as a fisherman and as a tile and carpet installer.
Survivors include his parents; a daughter, Alison Vance of Rockwall, Texas; two sons, Mark and Mason, both of California; two brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held later for Ruby Marie Lunyou of Eugene, who died Nov. 3. She was 51.
Lunyou was born Aug. 9, 1959, in Toppenish, Wash., to Olen and Nadine Tiller Lunyou. She graduated from Junction City High School in 1977 and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her life partner of 30 years, Richard Patch; two daughters, Michelle Patch and Deanna Patch, both of Eugene; two stepsons, Richard Davey of Eugene and Brian Patch of Ridgefield, Wash., two stepdaughters, Amber Long and Stephanie Eickoff, both of Coos Bay; three brothers, Alfred of Harrisburg, Marvin of Springfield and David of Oakridge; a sister, Peggy Hartshorn of Junction City; two stepsisters, Karen Ley of Canton, Ohio, and Sharon Buran of Massilion, Ohio; and 13 grandchildren.

HARRISBURG — Ernest Eugene Hopkins of Harrisburg died Oct. 27 of injuries sustained in a traffic accident. He was 58. No service is planned.
He was born Sept. 27, 1952, in Beckley, W. Va. He married Deborah Thomason on Oct. 1, 1987, in Parisburg, Va.
He was a coal miner but was disabled after 16 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joshua of West Virginia; and three grandchildren.

Margaret Denor

Margaret Truth Denor of Eugene died Oct. 25 of age-related causes. She was 91. No service is planned.
Denor was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Fresno, Calif., to Joseph and Mary Lada Schlothan. She married Frederick Collins in 1941 in California; they divorced in 1964. She married Cletus Denor in 1964 in California; he died in 1981.
She completed two years of college and was a Superior Court clerk for the state of California for 20 years and a legal secretary for 20 years.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Collins of Eugene and John Collins of Seattle.
