COTTAGE GROVE — Catherine Sue Prosise of Cottage Grove died Dec. 10 at age 51.

She was born Jan. 9, 1959, in San Diego to Shirley Kitchner Porter.

She worked as a paralegal and in public relations.

Survivors include her mother, of Carmichael, Calif.; a brother, Robert Bauck of Sacramento; and two sisters, Tami Mercer of Noxon, Mont., and Laurie Woodall of Aurora, Mo.

Della Mae Lucas of Eugene died Dec. 14 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease at age 77. No service is planned.

She was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Waubay, S.D., to William and Laura Darringer Nelson. She married Craig Lucas on Dec. 24, 1956, in Reno, Nev.

She graduated from Waubay High School and attended the University of Oregon. She worked part-time as a waitress and car hop during school, then as a dental assistant and receptionist for 30 years.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Todd of Springfield; a daughter, Melissa Lucas Powell of Tigard; a brother, Melvin Nelson of Washington; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 8 in the recreation room at Royal Oaks Mobile Home Park for Brenda V. Havens of Eugene, who died Dec. 13 of cancer. She was 57.

She was born Oct. 17, 1953, in Renton, Wash., to William and Minta Barnes Newell.

She graduated from the Women in Transitions program at Lane Community College in 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Andrea Havens of Eugene; a son, John Jr. of Eugene; two brothers, William Frank Panier of Seattle and Jim Newell of Eugene; two sisters, Penny Henshen of Oregon City and Lynn Sullivan of Gladstone; and two grandchildren.

Louise Christensen

CRESWELL — Louise Christensen of Creswell died Dec. 14 of age-related causes at age 81. No service is planned.

She was born April 21, 1929, in St. Cloud, Minn., to Frank and Anne Clausen Nardinger. She married Leon “Swede” Christensen on May 20, 1948, in Great Falls, Mont. He died March 11, 2001.

She graduated from high school. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Craig, Steve and Bryan, all of Creswell; a daughter, Debbie of Tillamook; eight sisters, Janice Budeski, Pat Cislo, Joanne Waldenberg, Shirley Wilson and Sharon Grey, all of Great Falls, Mont., Phyllis Corbally of Kennewick, Wash., Joyce Thoren of Bremerton, Wash., and Carol Nedved of Spokane; two brothers, Charles Nardinger of Great Falls and Kenny Nardinger of Kalispell, Mont.; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

COTTAGE GROVE — Mary C. Boggs of Cottage Grove died Dec. 13 of lung cancer at age 81. A private family gathering is planned.

She was born April 22, 1929, in Dixon, Calif., to Tom and Annie Thomas Parsons. She married Robert Boggs on Nov. 24, 1948, in Reno, Nev.

She graduated from Calistoga High School in 1946. She worked as a grocery clerk.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Lori Johnson of Vancouver, Wash., and Robyn Christiansen of Sacramento; a son, Michael of Petaluma, Calif.; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Olen Jennings

Olen E. Jennings Jr. of Eugene died Dec. 12 following a heart attack. He was 54. A celebration of life service is planned for next spring.

He was born April 13, 1956, in Corona, Calif., to Olen and Ethel Kulp Jennings.

He graduated from Milpitas High School in California in 1974.

He worked as a machinist for NASA and for medical companies developing lasers and CAT scans.

Survivors include a son, Jeff of Eugene; a daughter, Rosanne Jennings of Portland; two brothers, Gary Jennings and Elmer Kulp, both of California; and a sister, Kathy Reeves of California.

COTTAGE GROVE — Alice Faye Colvin of Cottage Grove died Dec. 14 of cancer. She was 70. No service is planned.

She was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Danville, Va., to Bennie and Lydia Blackwell. She married Tony Colvin on Sept. 12, 1992, in Lake Tahoe, Calif.

She was a college graduate and a business owner.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael Creech of Pleasant Hill and Lucas Colvin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Maria Bray of San Marcos, Calif., and Kayla Colvin of North Bend; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Dorothy Campbell

SPRINGFIELD — Dorothy L. Campbell of Springfield died Dec. 11 of age-related causes. No service is planned.

She was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Portland to Harry and Florence Moore Deckert. She married Conrad Campbell on May 20, 1977, in Reno, Nev. He died in January 2010.

She graduated from Springfield Union High School. She retired from driving a school bus and drove a Lane Transit District bus for several years.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Bonine of Oregon and Eldon Bonine of Alaska; two daughters, Susan Smith and Kari Hilliard, both of Oregon; three stepsons, Gordon, Greg and Dana; a stepdaughter, Pam Campbell of Oklahoma; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lois Bondshu

Lois Sue Dell Bondshu of Eugene died Dec. 12 of age-related causes. She was 88. A memorial service is planned for later in California.

She was born Sept. 14, 1912, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Marvin and Lula Bass Moore. She married Frank Bondshu in 1945. He died in 2005.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Peterson and Bonnie Arth, both of Eugene; a sister, Bonnie Tompkins of Tyler, Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A son, Melvin Bondshu, died in 2007.

Norman Ralph Smith

Norman Ralph Smith of Eugene died Dec. 7 of age-related causes. He was 85. A private service will be held later.

He was born April 24, 1925, in Potlatch, Idaho, to Ralph and Irene Smith Smith. He married Dorothy Ross in 1947 in Reno, Nev. She died in 1975. He married Mary Lou Black in 1976 in Reno. She died in 1989. He married Delorice Baser in 1990 in Eugene. She died in 2003.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in forestry and civil engineering from Oregon State University. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He worked as a forestry engineer.

Survivors include two daughters, Norma Smith of Eugene and Aletha Medina of Florida; two sons, Bruce of Eugene and Duane of Pendleton; a sister, Dolores Cusick of Esparto, Calif.; a brother, Curt of Spring Creek, Nev.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Gwendolyn, died previously.
