John W. Underwood of Eugene died Jan. 17 of pulmonary edema at age 60. No service is planned.
He was born Aug. 15, 1950, in Albany.
He attended college, was a systems communications technician in the Navy from 1969 to 1974 and worked later as an Internet technology manager.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Underwood of Eugene; and two grandsons.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Norkenzie Christian Church for Michael R. Lewis of Eugene, who died Jan. 21 of liver disease. He was 55.
He was born June 21, 1955, in Eugene to Paul and Phyllis Blakley Lewis.
He graduated from North Eugene High School in 1973. He worked for 30 year as a laminator for recreational vehicle manufacturers, lastly for Marathon Coach.
Survivors include his father; three sisters, Sharon Lewis, Valerie Lewis and Virginia Lewis, all of Eugene; and a brother, Tom of Eugene.

Wanda Virgene Gardner

SPRINGFIELD — Wanda Virgene Gardner of Springfield died Jan. 13 of complications of pneumonia at age 88. A private service will be held later.
She was born May 8, 1922, in Burlington, Colo., to Ernest and Mabel Goebel Rathbun. She married Dwain Gardner on Jan. 3, 1946, in Reno, Nev. He died Sept. 18, 1993.
She graduated from high school and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Dale of Oakridge; a daughter, Linda Gardner Kuhn of Whittier, Calif.; a brother, Elden Rathbun of Lucerne, Colo.; two sisters, Donna Hobbs of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Twila Beverlin of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bruce Raguet Burrow

SPRINGFIELD — A funeral will be held at noon Thursday at Andreason’s Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield for Bruce Raguet Burrow of Springfield, who died Jan. 22 of a heart attack. He was 59.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m.
He was born Jan. 27, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, to Josephine Worsham and William Burrow.
He earned two bachelor’s degrees, one in French literature and the other in political science, from Chapman University. He founded B&G Energy in 1981. Earlier he was a stockbroker for Blyth Eastman and Dillon and also for Paine Webber.
Survivors include two daughters, Elysse Burrow Denton of Richardson, Texas, and Harriet Anna Burrow of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Nancy Burrow Parrish of Austin, Texas; and two brothers, Christopher of Del Mar, Calif., and Gerard of New Haven, Conn.

David Richard Blain

David Richard Blain of Eugene died Jan. 18 of Alzheimer’s disease at age 87. No service is planned. He donated his body to science.
He was born April 5, 1923, in San Francisco to Joseph W. and Edna Rouleau Blain. He married Marian Franklin in June 1955. She died previously. His life partner was Judith Baronowski.
He attended the University of California at Berkeley. He served in the Army during World War II and was present at the Battle of the Bulge. He worked for the Oakland shipyards, was a machinist for IBM and owned a machine shop until retirement in 1992.
Survivors include his life partner; three sons, Richard W. of San Jose; Charles W. of Olympia; and Paul R. of Albuquerque; a daughter, Gail Blain Smith of Windsor, Calif.; two brothers, Claude of Vashon Island, Wash., and Rodger of Stockton, Calif.; and five grandchildren. His son Douglas A. Blain, died earlier.

SPRINGFIELD — A celebration of life will be held later for Christopher K. Maurer of Springfield, who died Jan. 8 of a pituitary tumor at age 49. He also was known by the name Christopher Castro.
He was born Feb. 20, 1961, in San Jose, Calif., to Samuel and Marie Harding Castro.
He attended Thurston High School and studied computer repair at trade school. Before he was disabled, he worked in computer repair and was employed by Leatherman Co., in Portland, making tools.
Survivors include two sons, Brandon and Justin; two sisters, Sue Huckaby of Springfield and Lynn Smith of Cloverdale, Calif.; a brother, Steve Huckaby of Sacramento; and a half-sister, Rebecca Sorci of Scotts Valley, Calif. A half-brother, Steve Castro, died previously.

David Hugh Kenyon of Eugene died Jan. 8 of age-related causes at age 92. A burial at sea will be held later.
He was born Dec. 9, 1918, in Santa Barbara, Calif., to Herbert and Grace Wheeler Hollick-Kenyon. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. He worked as an aerospace executive in Burbank, Calif., for 40 years.
Survivors include his companion of 20 years, Virginia Hodson; two stepdaughters, Karen McCants of Long Beach, Calif., and Christiann Stanley of Irvine, Calif.; a step-son, Jon Spencer of Bakersfield, Calif.; and two step-grandchildren.

SPRINGFIELD — A private memorial will be held later for Harold DePue of Springfield, who died Jan. 13 of age-related causes. He was 88.
He was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Sidney, Mont., to Harold and Jane Montford DePue. He married Lois B. Branca on Sept. 11, 1946, in Billings, Mont.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a small-business owner in Eugene and in California.
Survivors include his wife; and a daughter, Debra DePue of Sebastopol, Calif.

John “Jack” W. Anderson of Eugene died Jan. 18 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at age 67. No service is planned.
He was born March 4, 1943, in Sidney, N.Y., to John R. and Ruth Anderson. He and his wife, Heidi, were married Aug. 21, 1984, in Eugene.
He worked in graphics in California before moving to Oregon. He worked for NW Web as a buyer and later as warehouse manager until retirement.
Survivors include his wife; and a sister, Pat Olmstead of Wilmington, Del. A son, J.D., died previously.

Marty F. Kramer of Eugene died Jan. 8 of recurring pneumonia. She was 81. A celebration of life is planned for this spring.
She was born Jan. 17, 1929, in Seattle to Fred and Laura Martinson. She married Robert Perry on Oct. 23, 1948. He died in 1985. She married Frank Kramer on Jan. 10, 1990. He died in 2006.
She was a restaurant owner and manager.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Swanson and Jill Lovelace, both of Eugene; a son, Craig Perry of Seattle; a sister, Ann Millet of Idaho; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild and 14 great-grandchildren. A stepson, Mick Kramer, died previously.
