SPRINGFIELD — A private service will be held for Richard O. “Dick” Suitts of Springfield, who died Feb. 27 of age-related causes. He was 85.

He was born June 24, 1925, in Rock Island, Ill., to Clarence and Mary McEnany Suitts. He married Kathryn Wilson on June 7, 1947, in Galesburg, Ill.

He served in the Cadet Corps of the Air Force. He owned Point Loma Cleaners in San Diego for 20 years before moving to Idaho, where he was a cattle rancher for eight years.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Patricia Hughes of Bend, Cynthia Campbell of Walter­ville and Jeanne Klopp of Eugene; a son, Jim of Boise; three brothers, Phillip of California, William of Boulder, Colo., and Thomas of Elwood, Neb.; a sister, Ann Isaac­son of Stamford, Conn.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Linda Lane

SPRINGFIELD — A wake will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the family home, 972 S. 37th Place in Springfield, for Linda J. Lane of Springfield, who died March 22 of complications due to renal failure. She was 65.

She was born March 23, 1945, in Eugene to Jonathan and Phyllis Karing Putzier. She married Melvin Jones in Eugene in 1962; they divorced in 1970. She married C.M. Lane in Eugene in 1972; he died in 1981.She attended Coburg High School.

Survivors include her stepmother, Katherine Putzier; two daughters, Barbara Brown and Nancy Jordan, both of Springfield; a son, Tim Jones of Roseburg; a stepdaughter, Joy Lane of Missouri; a stepson, Charles Lane of Kansas; three brothers, John Putzier of Coburg and Richard Putzier and Vernon Putzier, both of Springfield; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Valerie Jones, died previously.

Barbara Jean Keene Piper

A memorial service will be held later for Barbara Jean Keene Piper of Eugene, who died March 17 of cancer. She was 68.

She was born April 17, 1942, in Bandon to Elsworth and E.B. Leake Huff. She married Walter Keene on July 29, 1960, in Portland; he died March 21, 1991. She married Fred Piper on March 28, 1998, in Springfield; he died March 6, 2004.

She graduated from Bandon High School in 1960. She was a merchandise clerk at Troutman’s Emporium for many years.

Survivors include a son, Russell Keene of Eugene; a daughter, Karen Warren of Springfield; five sisters, Betty Harris of Myrtle Point, Myrtle Minor, Carol Grow and Kathy Hiley, all of Bandon, and Maxine Hiley of Grants Pass; two brothers, John Huff of Ketchikan, Alaska, and James Hiley of Bandon; 11 grand­children; and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Patricia Drake, died in 2010 and a son, Mike Keene, also died previously.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Crossfire World Outreach Ministries in Springfield for Joseph Michael Eikenberry of Eugene, who died March 18 at age 36.

He was born March 28, 1974, in Eugene to William and Nina Fore Eikenberry.

He attended high school and was a food service worker.

Survivors include his mother; a sister, Ann Eikenberry of Springfield; and a brother, William III of Springfield. An infant son, Joseph, died previously.

Phyllis S. Peara

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 14 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene for Phyllis S. Peara of Eugene, who died March 6 of congestive heart failure. She was 83.

She was born May 10, 1927, in Omaha, Neb., to Al and Pauline Sorensen. She married Edgar Peara on Aug. 8, 1970, in Wilmette, Ill.

She earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska in 1948 and worked as a junior high school teacher.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Portia Blackman of Santa Fe, N.M., Leah Pahlmeyer of Durango, Colo., and Sarah Taylor of North Oaks, Minn.; a son, Alan Ball of Santa Fe; four stepsons, Christopher of Irvine, Calif., Jonathan of Seattle, Timothy of London, England, and Andrew of Eugene; a sister, Gena Sorensen of Oakland, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Delores McLendon

A celebration of life will be held later for Delores McLendon of Eugene, who died March 15 of cancer at age 83.

She was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Chicago to Emil and Julma Heyerick. She married Henry Mc­Lendon on Sept. 3, 1960, in Los Angeles. He died Oct. 5, 2005.

She attended high school and worked in retail management.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan Bennett of Eugene and Dawn Carroll and Denise deSomer, both of California; a sister, Madeline Dulek of Chicago; and one grandchild and two great-grand­children.

Mildred Lane

Mildred M. “Millie” Lane of Eugene died March 16 of cancer. She was 74. No service is planned.

She was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Atoka, Okla., to Earl and Gladys Hardman.

She worked as an elder care provider.

Survivors include three children, Sue Halbrook of Eugene, Margie Jergentz of Tualatin and Pat Snodgrass of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

David Neal DeLisle

David Neal DeLisle of Eugene died March 11 at age 62. No service is planned.

Inurnment will be at Los Gatos Memorial Park in San Jose, Calif.

He was born Sept. 6, 1948, in San Jose to Warren and Beverly Baker DeLisle.

He graduated from Los Gatos High School in California. He served in the Army. He worked as a custodian at Valley River Center.

Survivors include his mother, of Saratoga, Calif., and a sister, Susan DeLisle of Atlanta.

Carson Fields

Carson Fields of Eugene died March 12 of a brain tumor. He was 29. A memorial service is planned for a later date.

He was born Nov. 30, 1981, in Berkeley, Calif., to Louis “Bud” and Sue Fields.

He graduated from the University of Oregon in 2005. He worked in sales and advertising for AT&T.

Survivors include his father; a grandfather, Louis Sr.; and a brother, Elliott.

Louis A. Silva

CROW — A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 25, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Veneta for Louis A. Silva of Crow, who died March 17 of cancer-related causes. He was 82.

He was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Hanford, Calif., to Frank and Mary Moreira Silva. He married May Sife on July 1, 1949, in Helena, Mont. She died July 20, 1996. He married Betty Hillman in 1997 in Winnemucca, Nev.

He graduated from Umapine High School in Oregon. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the Korean conflict. He worked as a police officer in Walla Walla, Wash., and retired in 1979.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mary Wettengel, now of Yakima, Wash.; a son, Michael of Port Angeles, Wash.; a daughter, Roberta “Robin” Glaspell of Eugene; a stepson, Dennis Hillman of Crow; two stepdaughters, Gale Harris of Sun City West, Ariz., and Debra Bishop of Pomeroy, Wash.; a brother, Ernest of Milton-­Freewater; two sisters, Dolores Speer of Kennewick, Wash., and R. Darlene Odegard of Yakima; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand­children.
