A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. May 7 at Bethel Temple Faith Ministries in Eugene for Albert Lee Jones of Eugene, who died April 5 at age 61.
He was born Oct. 29, 1949, in Eugene to Henry and Jessie Holmes Jones. He and his wife, Shirley, were married Jan. 7, 1995, in Eugene.
Survivors include his wife; four brothers, LeeRoy of Portland, Larry of Washington, and Benjamin and Bobby Sr., both of Eugene; and a sister, Joyce Luvert of Washington.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. May 28 at Peace Presbyterian Church in Eugene for Daniel W. Self of Portland, formerly of Eugene, who died April 6 at age 32.
He was born June 18, 1978, in New York City to Richard and Mary McConnell Self. He graduated from North Eugene High School in 1996 and graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in journalism in 2000.
Survivors include his mother, now of Eugene; his stepfather, Anthony Guzikowski; and a sister, Anna Rose Guzikowski.

SPRINGFIELD — A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. April 29 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Springfield for Betty Lou Kiefer of Springfield, who died April 14 of respiratory failure. She was 69.A luncheon will follow at the Springfield Elks Lodge.
She was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Ashley, N.D., to Theodore and Lea Dockter Pfeifle. She married Bill Kiefer on April 28, 1962, in Great Falls, Mont.
She graduated from high school in Great Falls in 1960. She worked for 20 years as a grocery checker in Montana and at Little Mark’s Market in Springfield, then worked as an insurance agent for the last 20 years.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Debra Cheterian of Springfield and Lori Hill of Virginia; three sisters, Donna Slifkoff of California, Margaret Zygar of Eugene and Patty Bean of Sweet Home; two brothers, Virgin Pfeifle of Montana and Bobby Pfeifle of Eugene; and four grandchildren.

William D. “Bill” Conley

William D. “Bill” Conley of Eugene died April 15 of a stroke. He was 85. A private family service is planned.
He was born Sept. 7, 1925, in Eugene to Ernest and Lulo Signor Conley. He married Ruth Clark on Aug. 14, 1949, in Eugene.
He graduated from Mohawk High School in 1943. He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946. He worked in the wood industry as a production manager for Trus-Joist before retiring in 1985.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Patrick of Marcola, Timothy of Evans, Wash., and Brian of Veneta; three daughters, Eileen McCulley of Springfield, Kathleen Becker of Cheshire and Sheila Richardson of Mesa, Ariz; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

VENETA — A celebration of life potluck will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at the Crow Grange for James Wilbur “Bulldog” Giger of Veneta, who died April 10 of cancer. He was 61.
He was born March 2, 1950, in Eugene to Edward Duke Sr. and Margie Groshong.
He worked in construction demolition.
Survivors include his mother, Margie Vonflatern of Junction City; a son, Jimmy of Veneta; a daughter, Vallerry Favela of Oakridge; four sisters, Sandra Canaday of Eugene, Sheryl Hunt and Cathy Younkin of Blachly and Cindee Duke of Junction City; three brothers, Dale Duke of California and Tim and Terry Duke; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A daughter, Kimberly Giger Conn, died previously.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the Garden Way Church in Eugene for Raymond R. Carroll of Eugene, who died April 8 of a stroke. He was 67.
He was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Orland, Calif., to Raymond and Frances Tepner Carroll. He and his first wife, Janice, were divorced. He married Judy Forslund on Aug. 19, 1973, in Las Vegas. They divorced in 2001.
He graduated from Orland High School. He served in the Air Force and worked as a machinist.
Survivors include three sons, Andrew, Luke and Theo; a daughter, Kellie Carroll; a sister, Bernice Lewis; and five grandchildren. His first wife and a son, Ricky Carroll, died previously.

A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. May 5 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Eugene for Frances Black of Eugene, who died April 12 of age-related causes. She was 88.
She was born April 8, 1923, in Winnepeg, Manitoba, to Greg and Maria Calidonna Tino. She married John Black on May 12, 1945, in Winnepeg, Manitoba. He died previously.
She graduated from high school and attended nursing school at Lane Community College for two years. She retired as a retail clerk at Safeway.
Survivors include three nieces, Joanne Blaquiere of Lowell, Michelle Blaquiere of Eugene and Suzanne Nordquist of Pleasant Hill, and other nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the Sweet Home VFW Hall for Johnny R. Wilson of Sweet Home, formerly of Eugene and Springfield, who died April 12 of cancer. He was 70.
He was born Dec. 18, 1940, in Albany, Mo., to Curtis and AnnaLaura Barber Wilson.
He worked as a truck driver for Henkle & McCoy and for Lane County.
Survivors include a sister, Maxine Arlington.

Richard T. Willbur Sr. of Eugene died April 9 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 67. No service is planned.
He was born Oct. 4, 1943, in Michigan to Duane and Myrtle Baldwin. He and his wife, Lisbeth, married on July 4, 1981, in Douglas County; she died Oct. 16, 2000.
He graduated from Harper Creek High School and worked for Roseburg Forest Products.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Werking of Winston and Tina Willbur of Arizona; two sons, Richard Jr. of California and Tony of Wisconsin; a brother, Earl; five sisters, Elsie, Alice, Marjory, Delores and Nancy, all of Michigan; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A grandson, Michael Hesselgrave, died previously.

SPRINGFIELD — Sharon “Sheri” Prentiss of Springfield died April 3 at age 67. No service is planned.
She was born March 16, 1944, in Minnesota.
She graduated from high school and retired as a housekeeper at Valley West Health Care.
Survivors include two daughters, Christine Brooks of Springfield and Sharon Chapman of Albany; two sons, Dave of Springfield and Michael of Ontario; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
