SPRINGFIELD — A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Forestvale Memorial Park in Oakridge for Clarence Raymond Jones of Springfield, who died Oct. 19 of age-related causes. He was 98.
He was born March 6, 1913, in Circle, Alaska, to Cassius and Eliza Choo Jones. He married Louise Davis in Eugene.
He graduated from Oakridge High School in 1931. He built numerous sawmills around the Pacific Northwest.
Survivors include three children, Dale Jones of New Plymouth, Idaho, and Louaina DeWalt and Roderick Jones, both of Rhinelander, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A grandson died previously.
