He was born April 2, 1941, in Palo Alto, Calif., to Joseph and Norma Buffa.
He served in the U.S. Army and was disabled.
Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Robertson of Springfield, Melissa Buffa of Visalisa, Calif., and Christin Buffa of Marysville, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

CRESWELL — Gregory K. Deneen of Creswell died Nov. 18 at age 57. The family chose not to list the cause of death. No service is planned.
He was born April 19, 1954, in Detroit, Mich., to William and Janet Glassley Deneen. He and his wife, V. JoAnn, were married July 1, 1978, in Eugene.
He attended some college and worked as a plant nursery manager.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; a daughter, Sarah Matson of Corvallis; a son, William of Springfield; and a sister, Linda Deneen of Duluth, Minn.

Janice Jean Boles of Eugene died Dec. 12 of age-related causes. She was 84. No service is planned.
She was born March 4, 1927, in Roseburg to Willis and Reva Jacobs Finley. She married Max Boles on Aug. 22, 1948, in Eugene. He died Dec. 17, 2002.
She attended the University of Oregon. She worked as a kindergarten teacher in Pleasant Hill for 15 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Jody Boles and Melissa Finch, both of Eugene; three sons, Todd of Eugene, Matthew of New Port Richey, Fla., and Kent of Sisters; two sisters, Lorene Stewart of Lebanon and Shirley Webster of Wheaton, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren.

COBURG — Carolyn Dee Blagg of Coburg died Nov. 29 after a stroke. She was 54. No service is planned.
She was born Dec. 2, 1956, in Portland to William and Theda Mormon Meyer.
She graduated from high school. She was disabled.
Survivors include her domestic partner of 17 years, Jason Stone; a daughter, Sarah Ramirez of Eugene; a son, Adam Prather of Springfield; a sister, Joan Meyer of Springfield; a brother, Herb Meyer of Springfield; and five grandchildren.

VENETA — A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday, Dec. 18, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Veneta for Charlotte E. Voorhies of Veneta, who died Dec. 10 of failure to thrive. She was 85.
She was born Aug. 22, 1926, in Longwood, Fla., to Charles and Berta Lanenbach Searcy. She married Ray Voorhies on Aug. 22, 1945, in Longwood. They were married for 61 years.
She graduated from high school and nursing school. She was a homemaker and worked as a licensed practical nurse.
Survivors include a son, R. Van of Walla Walla, Wash.; a daughter, M. Janis Britt of Veneta; a brother, Charles Searcy of Longwood, Fla.; a sister, Mary Law of Crossroads, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, E. Melissa Voorhies Miller, died previously.

COTTAGE GROVE — Leonard Haight of Cottage Grove died Dec. 12 of complications from a seizure. He was 69. A service is planned for later.
He was born March 10, 1942, in Salem to Lester and Edna Allen Haight. He married Peggy Feltwell on March 25, 1967, in Port Orford.
He was a retired millworker at Oregon Cedar.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Brenda and Lorie, both of Cottage Grove; two sons, Kevin and Brian, both of Cottage Grove; three brothers, Leon, Larry and Leo; a sister, Eva; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield for Marvin Lewis Cross of Eugene, who died Dec. 14 of heart failure. He was 64.
He was born Oct. 5, 1947, in Oregon City to Vernon and Norma Steffenson Cross. He and his wife, Nancy, were married July 26, 1969, in Astoria.
He worked for Cascade Title Insurance.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Joanna Cross of Eugene and Heather Beaver of Springfield; a brother, Rodney of Bend; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

SPRINGFIELD — James William Allen of Springfield died Dec. 11 of cancer. He was 68. No service is planned.
He was born June 16, 1943, in Michigan.
A high school graduate, he worked as a sign maker and handyman.
Survivors include a daughter, Desiree Allen of Medford; his domestic partner of two years, Irene Eskue; and four grandchildren. His wife, Laura, died in 2001.

Patricia “Patty” Rushford

Patricia “Patty” Rushford of Eugene died Dec. 5 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and emphysema. She was 68. A celebration of life is planned for later.
She was born Feb. 11, 1943, in Detroit, Mich. Her parents were Janet Kirkpatrick Leto and Barney and Louise Madonia Leto. She married Richard Rushford on Dec. 8, 1979.
She provided home health care for the elderly before working at Zany Zoo Pets for 16 years and Scamps for 10 years.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Janet Leto; two sons, Richard Tomp of Eugene and Alfonso Tomp Jr. of Cottage Grove; a daughter, Karen Rust of Eugene; two brothers, Joe Kirkpatrick of Meridian, Miss., and Robert Leto of California; a sister, Jan Offet of Springfield; and four grandchildren.

SPRINGFIELD — A graveside service will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 17, at Pioneer Cemetery in Myrtle Creek for Billie Jean “BJ” Gormley of Springfield, who died Dec. 13 of age-related causes. She was 77. A celebration of life is planned Jan. 7 at the Springfield Country Club.
She was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Sand Springs, Okla., to Edward and Ruth George Moss. She married Philip Gormley on Sept. 16, 1952, in Myrtle Creek.
She worked at Sacred Heart Medical Center for 22 years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Scott of Stayton and Steven of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Ed Moss of Myrtle Creek; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
