Carla Jean (Roden) Hubbard, 72, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. Carla was born on December 11, 1952, at St. Mary Hospital in Walla Walla, Washington, to Phyllis “Ann” (Holden) Roden, originally from the United Kingdom, and Oran Louis Roden of Oklahoma.

On September 22, 1972, Carla married the love of her life, Gary Lewis Hubbard. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Carla and Gary enjoyed yard sales and swap meets, caring for dogs and cats, spending time with family, and moving from place to place. They raised four children: Joe Hubbard of Springfield, OR; Melissa Hubbard of Athena, OR; Kari Hubbard of Salem, OR; and Kori Hubbard of Pendleton, OR.

Carla had a passion for baking and decorating cakes, crafting, and collecting small treasures and watching the Game Show Network. She adored all things tiny—kittens, puppies, babies—you name it, if it was small, she loved it. As a teenager, Carla served as a candy striper, and later in life, she dedicated many years as a volunteer EMT, always giving back to her community.

Carla is survived by her children Joe and his wife Lori, Melissa, Kari, and Kori, her sister Carolyn Smith of Pendleton, OR, and her beloved grandchildren: Abi Krouze of Eugene, OR and her husband Adrian; Taylor Driver of La Grande, OR and his wife Jaydia; Carson Hubbard and Ridge Hubbard of Springfield, OR; Benjamin Hubbard of Walla Walla, WA, Adam Hubbard of FL, Tegan Hubbard, Shelby Hubbard, Jordan Hubbard, Nova Hubbard, Ashton Hubbard of Salem, Nieces Susie Caldwell and Kelly Olson of Pendleton. Nephew Bobby Smith of Pendleton. Great grandchildren: Ella Krouze and Aspen Krouze of Eugene, Apollo Driver of La Grande. Numerous great nieces and nephews as well as friends near and far. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, children Gary Jr and Jason, granddaughter Felicity, brothers Richard and Carl Roden and her parents and in laws.

A celebration of Carla’s life will be held in the spring of 2026.
