Obituary for Carolyn Spears

Carolyn Jean Spears, 92, of Eugene, Oregon, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025 at Churchill Estates Retirement Community. She was born on October 20, 1932 in Heber Springs, Arkansas, to Lorene Faye Asby and Johny Eugene Asby. She is survived by 3 children: Christie Galon, Curtis Spears, and Colleen Spears. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Durfor, and her brother, Fred Asby.

Carolyn will be remembered for her steadfast faith in Christ, her fervent love of the United States, and her generosity to those less fortunate. She had a fondness for singing, a love for reading, and a desire to keep learning all her life. And she touched the lives of many with her beautiful singing, patriotism, and genuine laughter.

Carolyn will be interred at Lane Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held this coming fall.
