Charlene Eleanor Kimball passed away peacefully at home in Springfield, Oregon, on February 2, 2025, at the age of 93, with her family by her side.

Charlene, known affectionately as “Char,” is survived by her loving daughter Sharon, along with a large and cherished extended family, including six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Stanley, her son Bruce, and her parents, Melvin and Alfretta Britton.

Born on July 4, 1931, in Springfield, Illinois, Charlene was raised as an only child. At the age of 14, she moved with her family to San Diego, California. In 1952, she met the love of her life, Stanley Kimball, on a blind date. The two married in 1953 and went on to raise two wonderful children, Sharon and Bruce.

Charlene enjoyed a long and successful career at Hughes Aircraft, retiring at the age of 55. After retirement, she dedicated her time to volunteering with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in both Los Angeles and Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where she and Stanley relocated in 1988.

In retirement, Char embraced life to the fullest. She loved cruising—taking more than 60 cruises over the years—and found great joy spending time on their pontoon boat with Stanley. She also cherished entertaining family, socializing with friends, and being actively involved in both the Yacht Club and the Elks Lodge.

Charlene will be remembered for her generosity, sense of adventure, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the memories she created.
