Born 7/11/1941 in Akron, Ohio
Died 7/3/2024 in Eugene, Oregon
Chris retired as a Lt Colonel in the Air Force after serving for 24 years as a pilot and supporting the CIA. He was a forward air controller in Vietnam. After he retired from the military, he worked as a flight test engineer with Northrup-Grumman. He and his wife Dale owned and operated a Bed and Breakfast in Oswego, NY for 16 years before he officially retired and moved first to Evanston, WY and then to Eugene, OR.
Chris was a great story teller and loved to tell stories about his exploits as a pilot. He loved airplanes and was a docent at Evergreen Air and Space Museum where he could talk about airplanes to his heart's content. He and wife Dale traveled extensively. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels for several years and was active in his various Episcopal Churches. He loved being a boy scout master. And most of all he loved his family and critters.
Chris is survived by his sons Bart and Christie, sisters Pam Wallenhurst and Sheila Rohr, his former wife Judy, wife Dale, his step children Philip Pfanner and Robin Whitmore, grand children Autumn and Cyrene, step grandchildren Melanie and Aaron and great grandchild Candor.
Chris was predeceased by his daughter Trisha, grandson Brandon and stepson David Pfanner
