In true Michigan tradition, Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. In retirement, Dale developed interests in gardening, winemaking, and custom-built guitars. He also enjoyed reading, movies, and birdwatching adventures with his daughter and playing music with his son. Dale and Marina eventually settled in Eugene, OR to be near their children and grandchildren.
