August 19, 1947 – March 17, 2026

Dr. David Charles Hall, beloved father, husband, physician, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in Eugene, Oregon, at the age of 78.

Born on August 19, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, David was the son of R.R. and Charlotte Hall and the twin brother of Daniel Hall. He grew up in Maumee, Ohio, graduating from Maumee High School in 1965. He then attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta, earning his bachelor's degree in 1969 before pursuing medicine at Chicago Medical School.

In 1972, David married Mary Lee Henderson. They made their home in Denver, Colorado, where their son, Todd, was born in 1977. David began his medical career in Denver before completing specialized training in Neonatology at the University of Utah. He returned to Colorado to dedicate his career to caring for the region's most vulnerable patients, practicing neonatology at several Denver-area hospitals, including Children's Hospital Colorado.

In 1990, David married Lynda L. Hutt. In 1996, they relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where David served as both a practicing neonatologist and director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery at St. Joseph's Hospital. Throughout his career, he was known for his calm presence, compassionate care, and unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of newborns and their families. He touched countless lives through decades of dedicated service.

David and Lynda shared a deep love for one another and a passion for seeing the world together. Their travels took them across the globe, creating cherished memories. When they weren't traveling, David enjoyed golfing, boating, and taking meticulous care of his cars.

David was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2002 and retired from medicine a few years later. He faced the challenges of his illness with quiet determination, resilience, and grace. He was cared for over the years by numerous caretakers, family members and medical professionals that helped him live his life to fullest extent.

In 2016, David and Lynda returned to Colorado to be closer to family, where they spent their remaining years together south of Denver. Following Lynda's passing in 2024, David moved to Eugene, Oregon, to be closer to his son and family, where he spent his final years.

David will be remembered for his intelligence, quick wit, kindness, gentle spirit, and lifelong devotion to helping others. His legacy lives on through the many families whose lives he touched as a physician and through all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Hutt Hall, and his parents, R.R. and Charlotte Hall.

He is survived by his son, Todd Hall (Sabrina), of Eugene, Oregon; his beloved grandchildren, Cody and Meredith Hall; his twin brother, Dr. Daniel Hall, of Golden, Colorado; his loving stepchildren, Jennifer, Beth, Julie, and Jeffrey, and their families, including several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members, dear friends, former colleagues, and the countless patients and families whose lives were touched by his compassion and care.

A luncheon celebrating David's life will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 12:00 p.m., at Lone Tree Golf Club in Lone Tree, Colorado. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life devoted to caring for others.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who wish to honor David's memory to consider supporting Parkinson's disease research or a charity dedicated to the care of critically ill infants.
