Duane is survived by his wife Karen Root, of 45 yrs, and daughter Michelle (Root) Kinchloe, and son Anthony Root. Duane was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Gandalf, and grandson Zack Root. He was born at Sacred Heart Hospital, in 1936, and graduated from first senior class of South Eugene H.S. He worked at Agripac starting on the crew line and worked up to plant shift superintendent. After retiring, he worked at A and K Development to escape honey-do projects. He loved travel, track and field events at Hayward, and Duck football and basketball and puttering in the yard.
