Elaine Clair Shaw passed away April 18 th 2024 at the Creswell Care Center after a lengthy illness at the age of 79.
She was born October 4, 1944 at McAuley Hospital in Coos Bay to parents Myron & Bernice (Boak) Wilkes growing up on Smith River and attending grade school at Gunter.
Elaine graduated from Drain High School in 1962 and married Donald Lee Shaw on November 26, 1964. They celebrated 27 years of marriage before Don’s passing in 1992.
Elaine was a longtime school bus driver for North Douglas Transportation in Drain.
Elaine is survived by three children: Vicki Anderson, Becky (Harold) Burris, and Donald (Carla) Shaw all of Drain. Six grandchildren: Caitlin Anderson (Blake Andes), Kyle Anderson (Miranda Draeger), Garrett (Ashley) Burris, Carson Burris, Colter Anderson, and Kimber Shaw, and three great-grandchildren: Camden & Grayson Raymond and Cash Anderson. She is also survived by her sister Shirley (Rance) Pilley of Drain.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents Myron & Bernice Wilkes, sister Nina Armstrong, brother Myron Wilkes, and her husband Donald Shaw.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
