Gareth (Gary) Jacobson, 74, of Junction City Oregon, was called home on August 18th, 2026.

Gareth Williams Jacobson was born on May 25th in Eugene Oregon to Reid and Patricia. Gary spent most of his childhood in Pleasant Hill with his brother Jeffrey, sister Debra and little brother Michael. Gary then graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1970.

After high school Gary started a career in logging. This logging career led him to Jewell Oregon where he met his wife, Debbi. They married in 1981. Together they raised 5 children in Knappa. Gary passed on his love of race car driving, sports, hunting, fishing, and logging to all his children in one way or another. All while being an avid Oregon fan, Go Ducks!

Serving for the Christian Loggers Association, Knappa/Svensen/Burnside/Brownsmead Rural Fire Department, volunteering at Hayward Field, being a Hunters Safety Instructor, a Church Board Member, a High School Cross County & Track coach, and volunteer for Helping Hands Cambodia were just a few things that Gary was passionately involved in over the years.

Gary is survived by his wife Debbi, daughter Andrea (Craig), sons Nick (Joanie), Derek (Amanda), and Justin as well as daughter-in-law, Cara Aguilar. Grandchildren Tyrel (Alex), Keenan, Madelynn (Issac), Katelynn (Gage), Hadassah, Raelynn, Trey, Wyatt, Orrin, Sadie, Zoey, Carter, Clay, Nell & Ellie. Great grandchildren Tripp and Loretta. Brothers Jeff (Shaunda), Mike (Nikki) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Reid and Patricia Jacobson, sister Debra Reed, his son Kyle, grandson’s Bodean and Marshall, and granddaughter Daisha.

A Celebration of Life with potluck to follow will be held on Sunday September 13th, 2026, at 1:00pm at Knappa High School. Please bring a favorite dish to share.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knappa High School Cross Country Team or Global Tier Helping Hands Cambodia in Gary Jacobson’s memory.
