Herbert C Ames (Herb) was born in Pendleton Oregon on January 11, 1947. He passed away peacefully, on January 21, 2026 at Riverbend PeaceHealth Hospital (in Springfield) with his family at his side. 

Herb is survived by his wife: Sheila, Children: Jeff, Angie and Aaron, 5 Grandchildren (David, Abigail, Kaylin, Nikki and Josh), and 5 Great Grandchildren (Libby, Aurora, Jonathan, Rori and Riley) and he was preceded in death by a Grandson, TJ in 2024. 

His passions were the Family, the Oregon Ducks. His hobbies included Classic Car shows, listening to the Rolling Stones, playing slots at casinos, camping, spending time at the Oregon Coast and bowling. 

There will be 2 Celebrations of Life for Herb later this summer in Baker City, OR and Charleston, OR.
