Born November 8, 1949, in Norfolk, Virginia, was sent to her eternal home on March 3rd, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Bennie and Jeanette Brinkley.

Jan was a shining light for all that had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one moved by Love, Compassion, and unwavering Faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.

In 1975, Jan met Wayne Maddy Sr. and married her soul mate six months later. They moved to Springfield, Oregon in 1977 from Spokane, Washington. Over several years, they moved a few times for the experience of life and always came back to Springfield where in 1986, they settled for good.

Jan will be remembered for her love of traveling and vacationing to almost every state in the US and visiting her family often on the east coast. Jan loved spending time on the Oregon coast and going on site seeing trips. She enjoyed reading spiritual literature and God's word. Jan also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

Jan worked at the telephone company for many years and worked at several Christian academies for several years. Jan worked at Eugene Water & Electric Board in Energy Management until she retired in 2016.

Jan is survived by her husband, Wayne Maddy Sr, of 50+ years, her bonus children Melinda and Wayne Maddy Jr, 5 grandchildren, 3 bonus grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild, numerous aunts, and cousins.
