Celebrating the Life of John Lesei Guardino

July 26, 1959 – April 13, 2026

John L. Guardino was born in Salinas California. John was the 6th child of Mariano (Monte) Guardino and Harriett Guardino. John L. Guardino, 66, passed away after a short but valiant fight against cancer. He passed away peacefully at home with his immediate family and many members of his extended family with him. John loved his family fiercely and always put them first.

John is leaving behind a legacy of simple joys (a game of Yahtzee) and quiet strength. He was a man who didn’t need much to be happy – a daily workout was never missed. When he wasn’t pushing his physical limits, you could often find him either reading the encyclopedia or with a pencil in hand. Writing was his creative outlet. Capturing thoughts and creating stories uniquely his. His words, much like his life, were honest, witty and uncomplicated.

He is survived by his wife Nancy and his three kids Gracie, Ella and Grant Guardino who will miss his unconditional love, one liners, puns and quick wit.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 23rd, 2026, at 3:00pm at the Northwood Church 2425 V St., Springfield.
