IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph
Jostmeyer
July 29, 1973 – March 2, 2026
Joseph Brian Jostmeyer passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 2 nd, 2026. He was born on July 29 th , 1973, in Oxnard California, to parents Rhonda Redfearn Jostmeyer Jennett and Gary Jostmeyer.Joe is survived by his wife Amanda (Mandy) Buford Jostmeyer, son Liam Jostmeyer, sister Jodi Dean, and stepfather Mitch Jennett. He adored his nieces Destinee and Justice, grand-niece Charlee, and grand-nephews Beau and Bryor, as well as his extended family. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his grandparents John (Pete) and Reba Redfearn, Bert and Joe Jostmeyer, and his aunt Sheila Redfearn.
Joe spent his childhood years in Oxnard, often cared for by his beloved aunts Sheila Redfearn and Cindy “Nee Nee” Redfearn Campbell, along with his uncle Glen Campbell. After graduating from Oxnard High School, he moved to Paducah, Kentucky with his mother and sister.
During his time in Paducah, Joe worked in the construction trade, went to electrician school, and earned his electrician license. He also played bass in a band with his good friend Dan Tanner, playing hall shows under the name Meanson. Joe met his future wife Mandy, whom he loved dearly, and they eventually moved to Eugene Oregon to be closer to his sister and other family on the West Coast. Joe and Mandy were together for 26 years, and married for 17. The extended family will always be grateful for Joe and Mandy’s love and assistance to his grandparents Pete and Reba, cooking their meals several times a week and helping with projects around their house in Eugene.
Joe was a dedicated father to son Liam and always kept his son’s best interests atheart. He coached Liam in Pop-Warner football during Liam’s elementary and middle-school years, always making the players better and coaching with kindness. He attended every jiu-jitsu tournament and high school football game, and had many guitar jam sessions with Liam and friends. Joe introduced Liam to gaming and they formed a strong bond playing World of Warcraft and Hearthstone. Joe was always there for school pickups and whenever Liam needed anything -- Liam was his pride and joy.
Joe will be remembered for his wicked sense of humor, being honest and forthright, and his love of family. He was an expert at fantasy football, and often took the league championship in whatever league he was in. He loved football and the Rams. He was a “foodie” and an excellent cook. Joe was dedicated to improving his golf game, and his friends and family will hold fond memories of time spent laughing with Joe on local golf courses and at family gatherings. His love of animals ran deep – he often said he loved animals more than people (we’re going to tell ourselves he was joking).
A private Celebration of Life will be held in late April.
