Joyce Frye Obituary 1/10/1941 - 3/8/2026

Joyce Elizabeth Frye (maiden name English) passed away in her home Sunday, March 8, 2026 at the age of 85. She was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada, January 10, 1941. She went to Oshawa Missionary College (renamed Kingsway College) her freshman year in 1959, and moved to the states in 1961 to be close to her sister, Carol Putman, in Northern California.

Joyce’s pride and joy was being a mom to her three children and grandmother to her only grandchild. She loved the beach, Broadway plays, Christmas and her annual “girl trips” with daughter and granddaughter. She was witty, open-minded, articulate, beautiful and smart, and had the best laugh. She was an avid reader her entire life, loved to garden and stylishly decorated her homes, and was quick to help her kids fix up and decorate their homes.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lloyd Frye, sons and their wives, Max & Patti Olson, Todd & Connie Frye, daughter and her husband, Sheree & Tony Walters, and granddaughter and her life partner, Saige Walters & Orion Hayes.

We will forever miss you, Mama. Thank you for your unconditional love and support throughout the years. Hopefully you are reunited with Grandma & Grandpa, and your best friend and “partner-in crime”, Sunny.
