Joyce Mae Lowry, 83, of Eugene, Oregon, passed away on August 26, 2026. She was born on March 24, 1943, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, by George Brown and Charlene Brown. Joyce lived a life defined by faith, compassion, gentleness, and a deep commitment to caring for others.

A retired nurse, Joyce, devoted her career to helping people in their most vulnerable moments. Her kindness extended far beyond her work - she found joy in gardening, nurturing flowers and plants with the same tenderness she offered to everyone around her. Those who knew her remember her as sweet, kind, thoughtful, and caring, a woman whose presence made others feel seen, supported, and loved.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Christy Lowry and Kim Fichter; her stepchildren, Ron Lowry, Evelyn Brinsfield, and Darren Brinson; and her 13 grandchildren: Brianne Lowry, Katelyn Lowry, Ashtin Givens, Heather Michelson, Dillon Smith, JoAnn Fichter, Stepheny Fichter, Rhonda Brown, Michael Lamp, Teresa Lowry, Tami Aman, Natalie Brinson, and Gary Chandler and 21 great-grandchildren, each one a testament to the legacy of love she built over a lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her late husband’s Charles Brinson, Jody Lowry, and Walter Dyer; her parents George Brown and Charlene Brown, stepfather George Reed; daughter Kathi Smith; sisters Janice Demko, Jerri Bell, and Judy Royston.

Joyce’s family and friends will remember her gentle spirit, her generosity, and the way she made every person feel valued. She was an active member of her church community, where her faith and fellowship brought comfort and strength to many. Her life was a quiet but powerful example of kindness in action.
