Kirk Henry Taylor, beloved husband of Olivia Taylor-Young of Eugene, passed away peacefully on February 21st after a courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer.

Born on March 24, 1943 in Mc Minnville, Kirk moved to California with his family at age 7. An alumnus of UC Berkeley, he served in the US Army as a Pershing Missile Specialist and later joined a Silicon Valley firm from which he taught computer programming classes all over the world and rose to the position of North American Training Manager.

Kirk was an accomplished folk and classical musician who performed with the San Jose Symphonic Choir, the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of San Jose, the De Anza Community Chorus and the Sanctuary Choir and Chamber Singers of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene. Besides his wife of 47 years, he is survived by a son, Robert Haber of Eugene, two daughters, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren in California.

A Celebration of Kirk’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 24th at 2:00 PM at the Solvang Independent Retirement Community, 1202 Jacobs Drive in Eugene.
