Larry Miller

Larry Miller, 64, was peacefully called Home on Saturday, Nov. 22, following a short battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was surrounded by his children and the angels who accompanied him to Heaven.

Larry was born on Feb. 15, 1961, in Springfield, Ore., where he lived nearly his entire life. After graduating from Springfield High School, Larry earned an Associate’s Degree from Lane Community College in Eugene, Ore. He was a dedicated employee at Safeway for more than 45 years. In addition to spending time with family, Larry enjoyed riding dirt bikes in nature and watching sprint cars race on dirt.

He is survived by both parents, Gerald Miller of Springfield and Geraldine Davis of Cottage Grove, Ore.; a sister, Cyndi Miller of Springfield; a brother, Tom Miller of Eugene; three sons, Shawn Miller (married to Rebecca Conner) of Lewistown, Pa., Adam Miller (married to Autumn Miller) of Hillsboro, Ore., and Eric Miller of Springfield; three grandchildren, Madalyn, Ava and Andrew; and his ex-wife, Shelly Miller of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Arlyn Davis.

A public memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, at Harvest Church International in Eugene, Ore.

Although his family is devastated by the loss, we rejoice that Larry is with our Father in Heaven. We will all be reunited one day and Larry’s wish during his final stage of life was that his sudden death would be used to bring others close to God. If you are contemplating opening your heart to God it’s simple. Accept Jesus into your heart. Believe that God sent His Son to die on the cross for our sins. Ask God for forgiveness for your sins. By doing those three things you can join Larry and so many other special souls in Heaven, where eternity will be unimaginably great.
