Lily Carlson Kumpula, a lifelong resident of Knappa Oregon and beloved mother, grandmother, and friend peacefully passed away on February 16, 2026. She was 93 years old.

Lily was born in Astoria Oregon on September 30, 1932. She would meet the love of her life, Don Kumpula, at Knappa High School and then marry him on August 27, 1955. They would enjoy raising 4 children.

She had a lifelong dream of completing college and graduated from Portland State University in 1989 at the age of 57!

Following Don's retirement from a successful optometric practice in Astoria, they would travel every winter for 22 years to Arizona.

Sadly Lily was preceded in death by her husband Don, her son David Kumpula, and her grandson Russell Clark. She is survived by 2 daughters, Karen Kumpula-Lacey (Mike), Carol Kumpula-Clark (Kevin), and a son Paul Kumpula (Melissa), and 4 grandchildren, Matt (Katie), Rachael (Anders), Erin (Steve) and Kirsten.

Family and friends will miss Lily's beautiful smile, warm & joyful greetings, and strong faith. She spoke often of her desire to be with Don again and with her Lord in heaven. We will miss her deeply.
