Lynn
Fogus
February 8, 1943 – April 2, 2026
On April 2, Lynn Fogus passed from this life. At 83 years old, our beloved Mr. Wonderful’s legacy is decades of wonderful memories for his wife, also named Lynn, and his daughter Maggie. His son Jake predeceased him.
Lynn adored his Lady Lynn. They met in April, 1969 and married in June. Many years later, he confided to her that the day he met her he created a (successful) plan to court and marry her. She often said he was the kindest man she ever met.
Six months after marrying, he mentioned to Lady Lynn that he’d always wanted to move to Alaska. She was up for any adventure he was part of, and in January they set off in a VW bug for Prince Rupert to board the ferry for Southeast Alaska. They arrived in a new town and a new logging job for their new life together. Alaska instantly became his next forever love.
Eager and quick to learn, within the next few years Lynn learned to run and repair every kind of logging machinery. His job was called an all around hand because he was all around the shop and job sites doing whatever needed to be done.
As much as he loved his work, Lynn’s wife and children gave the core meaning to his life. He taught them to fish and hunt and camp. He gifted them laughter and wonderful stories. When times were hard in the family, he had their backs. When something needed to be built or fixed, they relied on him. When they needed hugs or a laugh, they turned to him.
In the mid-eighties, Lynn became a friend of Bill and Lois W. and Dr. Bob, keeping that friendship to guide him throughout the rest of his life.
Lynn was stalwart in his loyalty to those he loved, steadfast through years of unrelenting pain and increasing disability. As he welcomed the relief of death, he spoke of the peace and comfort he felt from and for his beloved wife and daughter and friends. He inspires all who love him and will be missed always.
Family has decided that no services will be held.
