Born on June 7, 1955, in Peoria, Illinois, Mark was the son of Eleanor and John Hallinan. He grew up in Washington, Illinois, attending St. Patrick Catholic School, and graduated in 1974 from Spalding Institute/Academy of Our Lady in Peoria. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southern Illinois University in 1980.
Mark spent much of his early adult life living and working in Wisconsin before relocating to Oregon in 2010. There, he found joy in the state's natural beauty, a gentler climate, cheering for the Oregon Ducks, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Erin Iva Hallinan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and his siblings: Mary Kennedy, Kathleen Hallinan, Joan Hallinan, John Hallinan, Patricia Hallinan (John Primm), Michael Hallinan (Anne), Joseph Hallinan, William Hallinan, and Theresa Jones. He is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eleanor, and by his sisters E. Ann Hallinan and Claire Hallinan.
Mark will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private interment will take place at Glendale Cemetery on September 20, 2025.
