Mary Ann Laharty Olsen, 89, passed away peacefully in her home on November 20, 2025. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, on May 21, 1936, to Bernard Ambrose Laharty and Eunice Johnson Laharty, Mary Ann lived a life rooted in faith, family, and friendship.

A graduate of St. Francis High School, Mary Ann was known for her unwavering devotion to her Catholic faith and her deep love for those closest to her. She cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

Mary Ann had a passion for gardening and took great pride in planting and watering her flowers, tending her garden, and maintaining an immaculate yard. Her home and yard were the heart of countless family gatherings and celebrations over the 50+ years she lived there.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ron, her son, Michael, and her brothers, Jim and Tom Laharty. She leaves behind her daughter, Kelley Kline (Chris), her son, Jeff Olsen (Darcy), six grandchildren, Tucker, Ryan, Katie, Alec, Austin, and Halle. And three great-grandchildren: Luke, Walker, and Levi.

Mary Ann’s strength and independence were remarkable; she lived in her own home until the day she passed. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1201 Satre Street, Eugene, with a reception to follow in the parish center.
